Fig cream cheese spread is seriously out of this world delicious - especially when it's spread on freshly baked sourdough bread.

Just 2 ingredients are needed to make fig cream cheese spread. It's so easy - which is what makes it so good!

Have a tub of this simple spread in the fridge for quick, easy breakfasts on those mornings when you need something sweet.

It even works as a dip for fruit like apple slices.

How To Make Fig Cream Cheese Spread

Seriously, this recipe could not get any easier - you could even get the kids to make it! You need a block of cream cheese (don't use the spreadable kind as it will not have the right texture).

You'll also need the best quality fig jam you can find. I've use Bonne Maman in this recipe. I find it's the best quality and has whole pieces of fig giving the best flavor dimensions and texture.

Figs can be really hard to find (and very expensive) when out of season, so using good quality store bought is a good compromise.

Of course, if you have access to homemade fig jam, then of course use that!

All you need to do is whip the two ingredients together.

You'll need a stand mixer or electric beater for this recipe - I don't recommend mixing by hand as you won't be able to achieve the whipped, spreadable consistency.

It doesn't take long to make using electric beaters or a stand mixer - around a minute or two of whipping (depending on the power/speed of your appliance).

Equipment

  • Stand Mixer

Ingredients

  • 125 g Cream Cheese block - not spreadable
  • 100 g Fig Jam good quality

Instructions

  • Add the cream cheese and fig jam to the bowl of a stand mixer or use a mixing bowl and electric beaters.
  • Whip cream cheese and fig jam until it's smooth and spreadable.
  • It's really that easy!

Notes

Use the best quality fig jam you can find (I'm all for home made, but figs are really hard to find out of season, so good quality store bought jam is perfect).
You need to use "block" cream cheese - not a tub of spreadable cream cheese. The spreadable cream cheese will be too runny when whipped.
